Britt Talks About Maddy!
Okay, so now that I’m all caught up on my real life, I still have to wait for Peter to catch up with his. As the comic is still on hiatus, I’m going to chat about it here some more!
To all the new people following me: Hello! I don’t just reblog stuff, I also have a comic which I co-write with my friend Peter (Whose Tumblr is over here: http://peterntrinh.tumblr.com/). I hope you’ll check it out and enjoy it thus far!
Story time! In real life, Peter and I met during University, and funny enough, we both liked the same restaurant. This magical place was called Mel’s Diner, and sadly said magical place burned down two years ago (and many a student fell to their knees and cursed the heavens for their cruelty).
You see, Mel’s Diner was the only place in that town which was A) Open 24/7, and B) Served breakfast all day. When you are a student, this is the best combination anyone could possibly have. Nowhere else will you ever see an entirely packed restaurant with a waiting list at 3am, where every single person is completely drunk and ordering as much bacon as humanly possible. This is a Mel’s phenomenon. (Why yes, I have been at Mel’s completely drunk at 3am ordering as much bacon as humanly possible. I ate all of it.)
Cafe De Lounge is based on this magical place, in tribute to Peter and I’s lost love. And if you look closely at the waitress (who isn’t on this page, but she’ll show up) then you will get a little Easter Egg if you know all of the information I have just told you.
PS, if we ever do a trivia or something, the waitress’ full name is Melody Burns. (I am so sorry everyone who loved Mel’s as much as I did. But it’s been two years, I’m going to start making bad puns.)
